2013 GRAND SLAM SENIOR GOLF

This year the Grand Slam Senior Men’s Golf League is starting its eighth
year and the second year for the women. Both leagues are open to golfers age
55 and older and golfers of all abilities are welcome
Both leagues play on Monday mornings at Pokegama, Eagle Ridge, Sugarbrooke
and Mesaba CC and do not play the same course on the same day. Both leagues
will hold an informational meeting on April 29, 2013 with golf to follow,
the men at Eagle Ridge and the women at Pokegama, start time is 8:30 am for
both meetings.
The Senior League was developed to play golf, meet others, and have fun.
Last year the men had a total of 105 golfers. This is the second year for
the women under the leadership of Jeri Schmidt and last year had 36 members.
The men and women leagues each have their own handicap system.
League dues for the men is $30 per person and for the women $25. For both
the men and women, the green fees are $17 per round, but if one is a member
of the host course, there will be no charge. A power golf cart is required
and rental will be $12 per round, with no charge for those with a seasonal
cart rental at the host course. In addition, there will be a $5 fee for the
game of the day for the men. Men winners will receive gift certificates from
the pro shop. The women do not have a game fee, but will have proximity
winners who will receive gift certificates from local businesses.
